Why choose our Silver Account?

With the exception of the overdraft, these Silver benefits come from partner providers and are subject to their terms, conditions and exclusions. You can find out more in the Useful Documents section.

  • European Travel insurance with winter sports for you and your partner (if both under 65 years of age) for up to 45 days per trip in duration (Winter sports are covered for up to a maximum of 31 days in total in any calendar year). There is no limit to the number of trips which can be taken
  • Comprehensive cover, including: Emergency medical cover* (up to £10,000,000), cancelling your trip or coming home early (up to £5,000), accidental death or permanent disability benefit (up to £100,000), possessions cover (up to £2,500)

  • Covers one phone for sole account holders or two phones for joint account holders, in the UK or abroad

  • Covers phones up to a maximum individual original retail cost or value of £2,000 including VAT

  • Covers repair or replacement of your handset where your phone is lost, stolen or cannot be fixed. Replacements may be from reconditioned stock.

  • Covers the cost of unauthorised calls made - up to £1,500 for contract phones, and up to £300 for pay-as-you-go phones

 
  • Help for when your Credit, Debit and Store Cards get lost or stolen. Covers everyone in your household who is registered (UK residents only)

  • Cancel and order replacement cards with just one call

  • Get emergency cash advances: up to £1,000 if your cards are lost or stolen in the UK or abroad; £3,000 to help pay hotel bills if you're stranded overseas; £3,000 to cover lost tickets and travel documents; and £750 for transport costs (subject to approval)

  • Claim up to £200 if your cash is lost or stolen, and a further £200 to replace the missing bag, case or wallet your cards were in

  • Receive £100 towards finding medical assistance if you fall ill abroad

  • Use security protected key and luggage tags to help you recover your personal items if they are lost or stolen, subject to approval

Your TSB Visa debit card is an amazing piece of plastic. Accepted in millions of places and cash machines worldwide, it's incredibly convenient. It's just as safe to use abroad as at home, so it's a simple alternative to carrying cash.

No Overdraft fees or interest to pay if you go overdrawn (either Planned or Unplanned) by less than £10. The Overdraft Buffer is in addition to any interest and fee-free Overdraft limit that you may have as part of your Current Account.

If your account goes over its limit, our Grace Period means that you have until 10pm (UK Time) to pay in enough money to avoid any Overdraft fees you may incur that day.

If you'd like to have one, we'll give you a TSB Cheque Book as well.

A Joint Account is simply a Bank Account in the name of two or more people. You can either convert your existing Bank Account into a Joint Account by adding someone else to it, or open a new account in two people's names.

Overdrafts are subject to application and approval and are repayable on demand.

*AER means Annual Equivalent Rate. AER illustrates what your interest rate would be if interest was paid and compounded each year and allows you to easily compare different savings accounts. As every advertisement for a savings product, which quotes an interest rate, will contain an AER you will be able to compare more easily what return you can expect from your savings over time. Gross rate means that credit interest is paid without income tax being deducted. You can receive your interest paid gross if you are a non-tax payer and have completed an Inland Revenue R85 form.
