This is a basic bank account for people who don’t qualify for our other bank accounts or don’t hold another UK bank account.

Who is a Cash account for?

This is our basic bank account. It’s for people without another UK bank account or if they don’t qualify for one of our other bank accounts.

You can apply directly for a Cash account, but we suggest seeing if you’re eligible for a free Spend & Save account first. If you’re not, we may offer you a Cash account instead.


What’s included with this basic bank account?

The TSB Cash account includes

  • Pay in and withdraw your money with no monthly fee 
  • A contactless Visa debit card 
  • The option to manage your account online, in the app, in branch, or over the phone

What’s not included

  • You won’t earn any interest on the money in your account 
  • There’s no arranged overdraft or cheque book 
  • If you need any borrowing at a later date, for example, a loanarranged overdraft or credit card, you’ll need to apply for one of our other current accounts (subject to eligibility)

We can add a Support Indicator to your account, which means whenever you talk to us, we'll be aware that you may need tailored support.
