We’re making changes to Savings Pots. Here’s all you need to know.

We’re making some changes, including how we calculate your interest. The changes won’t happen before 6 December 2025 and we’ll let you know as soon as they come into effect through our mobile app, internet banking and on this page of our website - tsb.co.uk/savings-pots-changes.

How Savings Pots currently work.

If you’ve got a Spend & Save or Spend & Save Plus current account, you can open up to five Savings Pots per account, depositing a maximum of £5,000 in each (excluding interest). You earn interest on each Savings Pot, as well as a fixed introductory bonus, which lasts for 12 months. You also have the option to renew your account (add a bonus) at any time.

What’s changing?

  • We’re increasing the maximum amount you can deposit in each Savings Pot.
Moving forward, you’ll be able to deposit up to £100,000 (excluding interest) per Savings Pot, and you can still have up to five Savings Pots per Spend & Save or Spend & Save Plus current account.
  • We’ll be introducing two new interest rates.
Savings Pots will have a different interest rate depending on the type of current account you hold. There will be one rate if you have a Spend & Save current account and a higher rate if you have a Spend & Save Plus current account. These rates will still be variable and released later in the year.
  • We’re removing the bonus element from Savings Pots.
Saving Pots don’t need to be renewed once the changes come into effect. Instead, the new rates will be applied automatically based on the current account you have. However, you can still renew Savings Pots until these changes are introduced. Please also note that all existing bonuses will remain in place for the rest of their term. This means that any bonuses added before the changes take effect will be honoured for 12 months. For more information on how to renew please visit tsb.co.uk/renewing

Next steps.

If you’re happy with the changes, you don’t need do anything. We’ll publish the date that the changes will be made and the interest rates once they’re both available on tsb.co.uk/savings-pots-changes

If you’re not happy, you can choose to close your Savings Pot(s) at any time. You can do this in the TSB Mobile Banking App, by calling us on 03459 758 758, or by visiting us in branch.
