Changes to the TSB Executive

TSB are today announcing that four members of their Executive Committee are leaving the business in the coming months: 

  • Cheryl McCuaig, Chief Information Officer 
  • Richard Lees, Chief Risk Officer
  • Ariam Enraght-Moony, Chief People Officer  
  • George Gordon, Communications and Corporate Affairs Director  

Nicola Bannister, TSB CEO, said: “Cheryl, Richard, Ariam and George have all played crucial roles in the ExCo in recent years, helping to deliver record TSB performances and putting us in the strongest possible position ahead of integration with Santander. On behalf of the whole business, I’d like to thank them for their outstanding leadership and wish them every success for the future.” 

Orderly handovers are underway with TSB leaders and Santander UK Executives in these functions. 

Notes to editors: 

  • TSB, a wholly owned subsidiary of Santander UK, is preparing for further integration with Santander UK through a Part VII banking transfer process and is preparing to begin transferring some employees to its parent bank from the beginning of October, with the rest of the business envisaged to follow in early 2027. 
  • Cheryl McCuaig joined TSB in January 2023 as Chief Information Officer with over 35 years’ experience in technology leadership roles in Investment, Commercial and Retail Banking. She started her career at HSBC, has held senior executive roles at JP Morgan, Credit Suisse, Barclays, Lloyds Banking Group and Metro Bank.
  • Richard Lees joined TSB as Chief Risk Officer in December 2022. Prior to TSB he led risk functions at Co-op and Metro Bank. He has also held senior roles, spending more than ten years in credit leadership, at HBOS / Lloyds Banking Group. He started his career at Bank of America.
  • Ariam was appointed TSB’s Chief People Officer in October 2023. Prior to TSB she led the HR function at John Laing. Ariam’s career has included senior HR roles at Winton Capital, Goldman Sachs and Google, following a decade of consulting with Accenture which she joined as a graduate.
  • George was appointed TSB Communications and Corporate Affairs Director in 2018. He joined from Tesco, where he played a key part in the recovery of the business, serving as UK & Ireland Communications Director and as Head of Communications at Tesco Bank. Prior to this, George worked for Unilever for 14 years, including a two-year secondment to the UK Government (Cabinet Office) advising ministers and policymakers on better regulation
