Juan Echeverria

Chief People Officer

Juan was appointed TSB Chief People Officer in October 2026. He has been the Chief People Officer at Santander UK since moving from Santander Mexico in 2022, he joined the Santander Group in 2007 as Commercial Strategy Director.  He leads large-scale people, culture, and organisational transformation agendas within a complex, regulated environment. Juan brings deep expertise in aligning business strategy with people outcomes to drive performance, resilience, and sustainable growth.

Over the course of his career, Juan has held senior roles across multiple geographies and business areas including Corporate, Retail and Private Banking and Commercial Strategy before moving into People and Culture, giving him a broad perspective on organisational design, talent strategy, and cultural transformation.  His experience includes major integration programmes, operating model redesign, and transformation initiatives where he has successfully balanced commercial priorities with strong governance and people impact.

Juan works closely with Executive Committees, Boards, and Non-Executive Directors as a trusted advisor on people and organisational matters.  He has been instrumental in shaping and delivering initiatives to strengthen leadership pipelines, including senior sponsorship programmes, gender representation strategies, and targeted development interventions. His work has focused not only on identifying high-potential talent but actively accelerating their progression through advocacy, exposure, and opportunity creation.
