What does bike insurance cover?

With Pick and Protect bike insurance we’ll cover:

  • all bikes at your home address when you insure the most expensive one
  • bicycles worth between £250 and £3,500 
  • loss or damage to your bike including the hire of a replacement bike up to £25 per day
  • theft provided the bike is with you at the time or is locked to a fixed object like a bike rack or railing
  • public liability up to £2 million if you were to cause accidental bodily injury or illness
  • worldwide cover for temporary visits

Gadget insurance

Gadgets insurance provides cover for electronic items. For other possessions, our personal items insurance covers items you take to places with you, like jewellery, watches and luggage. We also offer sports equipment insurance and bike insurance

What are the main exclusions from bike insurance?

You won’t be able to claim for:

  • theft where the bike isn’t with you or hasn’t been securely locked to an object that can’t be moved or in a locked building
  • bikes with a motor
  • loss or damage to tyres and accessories unless the bike is stolen or damaged at the same time
  • loss or damage caused by wear and tear, light, weather conditions, damp, rust, wet or dry rot or anything that happens gradually
  • loss or damage caused by cleaning, washing, repairing or restoring
