Transaction History

The Competition and Markets Authority has put in place a series of measures for Customers’ benefit, amongst them is the right to your past transaction history.

How does it work?

  • You are entitled to copy statements (your transaction history) after you have closed your account.  You can do this at any time during the next five years.  We will provide you with your transaction history (at no cost) covering up to five years prior to the date of closure
  • When you close an account you can choose:
    • the period (or periods) you want the information to cover, up to five years prior to closure of the account
    • whether you wish to receive it at all at this time
    • to have the information posted to you, or you can visit a specific branch
  • You will receive your past transaction history in paper format for now

What else do I need to know?

  • Past transaction history is only available for up to five years
  • We will need to verify your identity before we can send your past transaction history
  • You can contact us on the number above or visit your local branch to discuss further
  • The volume of paper you will receive could be quite large; up to 60 pages of confidential bank statements if you receive the full five years’ worth of history, and even more for accounts with high transaction levels

How long will it take to receive it?

Past transaction history will be provided (via post or in branch) within ten working days of us having confirmed your identification
