How do I sign up to Square?

Create a Square account by entering a few details about your business and the bank account of where you’d like your funds transferred. You can set up an account here.

Start taking online payments - create an online store using Square’s site builder or add secure Square payments to your existing website. Download the Square Invoices app to send invoices on-the-go.

For in-person payments - download the Square Point of Sale (POS) app available for both Android and iOS.

Connect your wireless Square Reader using Bluetooth to accept contactless and chip + PIN payments.

*TSB receives a commission when you start using your Square account and you have finished your fee-free £1,000 of sales. Afterwards, standard processing fees apply. Square charges 1.75% for all face to face transactions including Visa, Master Card and American Express. For card-not-present transactions, Square charges 1.9% for European cards or 2.9% for non-European cards for their online payment products including Online Store, Checkout Links, eCommerce APIs and SDK (online APIs), and purchases of Digital Gift Cards. Virtual Terminal, Square Invoices and Manually keyed-in card payments on the Square Point of Sale app have a fee of 2.5%.
