Back in April 2015, we announced that we would be spending £250 million on our branch and digital services to ensure they would be fit for the future. Now, I'm pleased to reveal that two purpose-built branches - our first since we launched onto Britain's high street in 2013 - are coming to Aberdeen and Birmingham before the end of 2016.
Technology is critical but our customers are also telling us there are times when only face-to-face contact will do. For example, when people are making a big decision, such as buying a new home, or when they need support, such as following a bereavement. This is why we are continuing to invest in our branch network alongside other major projects like the new mobile app.
Two of our Branch Distribution Directors, Andy Armitage and Carol Anderson, have recorded a short video to showcase the innovative features and new technology, which will be used in the new flagship branches.
This will help our customers bank how, when and where they choose, and I look forward to seeing the new branches take shape over the next few months.
