Changes we’re making to help you manage your account better
Following the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) recent study of the credit market, service improvements are being introduced across the industry to help customers manage their accounts better. That’s why we want to tell you about some changes we’re making to help you borrow well and manage your finances more easily.
From March 2018 TSB credit card holders will start to receive two new useful alerts. These alerts are designed to help you stay in control of your finances by providing you with the most up to date information on your account. And they're completely free to receive in the UK.
These are the messages you’ll receive from us:
A promotional rate is coming to an end – we will let you know either by text message, email or letter a few weeks before your promotional rate is due to expire.
Getting close to your credit limit - we will let you know by text message or email (if we don’t have your mobile number) when you’re close to your credit limit.
You don’t have to do anything to set these alerts up, but please check that your contact details are correct and you have given us your email address and mobile number. You can check and update your contact details through your Online Banking account, by visiting your local branch or calling us on 03458 353 846 (lines open 7am to 11pm seven days a week).
If you would like to change your registered mobile number or email address, you can do so through your Online Banking account, by visiting your local branch or calling us on 03458 353 846 (lines are open 7am to 11pm seven days a week).
If we do not hold your contact information then you will not be able to receive any credit limit alerts but we will be able to send you details of your promotional rate expiry by letter. To receive credit limit alerts we will need you to provide us with your mobile number and/or your email address – you can do this either through your Online Banking account, by visiting your local branch or calling us on 03458 353 846 (lines are open 7am to 11pm seven days a week).
If your account is base rate linked, the standard rate you’ll be moving to will change in response to a change in base rate. We apply any changes on the last day of the month in which the Bank of England announces a change. So if we send you an alert before the last day of the month, the standard rate we show won’t yet reflect the change in base rate.
These alerts are free to all our TSB card holders and are free to receive in the UK. Alerts can also be received whilst you are overseas so please speak to your phone provider about what they might charge you to receive texts abroad.
