TSB Bank plc is pleased to confirm the appointment of David Fenton as its new Chief Economist. Starting today, David joins from the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and is responsible for providing intelligence and analysis to senior management on economic issues impacting the business. Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, he will report to Candy Gil, TSB's Director of Planning, Reporting and Analysis.
David has over 15 years experience in the financial services industry. At RBS, David held the position of Senior Economist delivering analysis about how the economic environment affected the Bank's corporate customers, including small and medium enterprises. Prior to this, he was Head of Microeconomics.
Before moving to RBS, David worked at Ernst & Young as a Finance Executive responsible for looking after public and private sector clients on various Private Finance Initiative and Public Private Partnership deals.
Commenting on David's appointment, Candy Gil, TSB Director of Planning, Reporting and Analysis, said: "I look forward to working with David and am delighted to welcome him to the team. The Chief Economist position is a new role at TSB and David has the ideal skill-set and experience to fit the bill. He has proven industry knowledge to advise TSB senior management on economic issues and help inform decision-making to benefit the customers we serve."
David has a MSc and First Class Masters in Economics from the University of Glasgow, Scotland.
Other recent appointments to the Finance team at TSB, include Alistair Smith as Head of Tax, and Stephen Buttery, Head of Statutory Reporting.
