What does sports equipment insurance cover?

With Pick and Protect sports equipment insurance we’ll cover:

  • sports equipment worth between £250 and £5,000 with any one item worth up to £1,000 as standard
  • sports equipment belonging to anyone living in your home, including kids studying away 
  • accidental loss or damage
  • sports clothing used solely in connection with sporting activities
  • theft including from an unattended vehicle which is forced open up to £1,500
  • non-professional use of sports equipment and accessories
  • worldwide cover

What are the main exclusions from sports equipment insurance?

You won’t be able to claim for:

  • damage caused while in use although this can be insured by adding Sports Plus to your sports equipment cover (see enhancements below)
  • damage caused by wear and tear or anything that happens gradually 
  • gadgets and bikes as separate cover is available for these
