The first thing you should do is check what you consider to be your valuables against our list of defined valuables. For everything that's on that list, estimate the value of each item and add these figures up for a total value. This is the sum that you should insure your valuables for.
If you consider something to be a valuable but it isn't on our list, that means that you don't need to specify it on your policy. We only require you to specify items in the home that are on our valuables list and over the individual item limit. Please see the policy document for the individual limit on your cover.

Yes but if you live in accommodation you share with people who are not your relatives and have Contents or Starter Contents, only the contents that you personally own will be covered. You can name one of the people that you live with on your policy as a joint policyholder so that their contents are covered too but you can't add more than one policyholder.
For covers other than Contents or Starter Contents, there are no restrictions on the insurance you will be provided with because your home is shared accommodation.
Protected No Claim Discount ensures that your no claims discount won't be reduced and that your premium won't be affected if you make a claim. You will only be eligible for this if you have 5 years no claims discount, been claim free for 3 years and have selected an excess of £100 or more.
You can have a maximum of 2 named policyholders, one being the main policyholder and one being a joint policyholder. The main policy holder should be a person who is named on the mortgage, lease or tenancy agreement.
