Transferring credit balances from your TSB credit card to your TSB bank account

Received a refund because your travel, holidays or event has been cancelled? You can transfer a credit balance from your TSB credit card to your TSB current account.

I’ve had a refund to my credit card and my account is now in credit. How do I get this money into my bank account?

If you have a credit balance on your credit card account, we can return this to your TSB current account. We can only return the credit that’s in your account on the day we make the refund. That might be different to the amount of the refund you have received, for example if you have spent on your card or if interest and charges have been applied to your account since you received the refund.

If you’re registered for online banking for your credit card; have a look at your current available credit card balance online as this will take into account any pending transactions and tell you how much your account is in credit by.

You can ask for a credit balance refund by completing the form here*. The current account and the TSB credit card must be in the same name. We can make the payment to a joint current account so long as the main credit card holder is one of the current account holders.

If you do not have a TSB current account, you will need to contact Card Services 0345 835 3846 or go into a TSB branch.

Are there any scenarios where a credit on my credit card can’t be paid into my PCA?

We will not carry out your request if the credit card and the current account are not in your name.

We will also not carry out the request if the credit on your credit card is as a result of a gambling transaction. If the credit is the result of a gambling transaction, you will need to contact the merchant who made the payment to ask them to re-debit the transaction.

We will also not carry out the request if the credit on your credit card has come from a balance transfer. You will need to speak to the bank who made the balance transfer to ask them to recall the funds to your other card.

When will the money be available in my current account?

If we are able to carry out your request, the money will be in your bank account within two working days, so long as your request is submitted before 11am that day.

How will I know that you have processed my request?

When you complete the form, we will send you a copy of the completed form on email so that you know we have received your request.

If we are unable to complete your request, then we will send you a text message or email to confirm this and ask you to contact us. To stop this from happening please make sure that the details you put on the form are correct.

If we are able to complete your request, then you will see the transaction on your credit card statement and current account statement.

Some common reasons why we might not be able to process your refund

  • You do not have a credit on your credit card

  • The details you have provided do not match

  • The current account is not a TSB current account or you are not an account holder of the TSB current account provided.

  • The credit on your credit card is a result of gambling or a balance transfer transaction.
