A different kind of bank.

It can sometimes feel like banks do as little as possible for their customers.

Like not paying any interest on free current accounts.

And only bothering to get in touch when they have something to sell.

And it’s a fact that millions of people are missing out on hundreds of pounds by not switching banks, despite switching being easier than ever.

TSB isn’t like other banks.

We believe that banks should profit with not from their customers.

That’s why we’re encouraging all UK banking customers to question their current banking relationship and if it’s not working for them, break free and go somewhere better.

If the answer is yes to any of the following questions, then perhaps it’s time to think about switching to a bank that profits with you, not from you.

  1. Does it ever feel like your bank’s doing as little as possible for you?
  2. Did your bank tempt you in with a nice big interest rate, and then take it away after a year?
  3. Does your bank charge you a monthly fee if you want to get the best offers?
  4. Does your bank only bother to get in touch when they have something to sell?
  5. Does your bank not explain to you that switching banks is easier than ever?

We’re all Partners

We know that when customers are happy they’ll want to carry on banking with us. And that a good way to make sure they are happy is by working in partnership. With each other and with our customers too. That’s why we’re all called Partners.

No sales targets

We have removed sales targets and reward our Partners when they actively help people, not when they just sell them things.

No teaser rates

Our Plus account offers all TSB customers 3% interest on balances up to £1,500, which unlike some banks’ current accounts, isn’t just a teaser rate that gets taken away after a year.

Fee free current account

Some banks charge a monthly fee if you want to get their best current account offers.

We refuse to charge a monthly fee for our Plus account so that as many people as possible can benefit from it.

Britain’s Challenger Bank

TSB is relentlessly campaigning for a transformation of the entire banking industry so that it works in customers’ interests not just the banks’. After all, more people getting what’s best for them has to be a good thing, doesn’t it?

Plus account interest: 3% AER/2.96% gross variable interest (paid monthly). Pay in £500 a month, register for paperless and Internet Banking.
Switch Guarantee

Breaking free is easier than you’d think.

In 2013, the Current Account Switch Service (CASS) was created to make the process of switching current accounts simple. Over 4 million accounts have switched using CASS to date.*

CASS is a free service that lets you switch your current account from one bank or building society to another in just 7 working days. It’s straightforward, guaranteed and hassle-free.

All you need to do is open a new current account and decide when you want to switch. Your new bank or building society will take care of the rest.

As it's backed by the Current Account Switch Guarantee, if you incur any interest or charges as a result of your switch, you'll be reimbursed.

You can find out if your bank or building society is signed up for the CASS programme by asking them, or by looking out for the below logo.

TSB believes that banks shouldn’t profit at the expense of their customers and communities.

We’re proud to be part of the local community where people help each other and we all thrive together.

That’s what we call ‘TSB Local Pride’.

This is our way of celebrating people and organisations who have gone out of their way to help other people and investing some of our profit back into the communities we’re part of, right across Britain.

And that’s why we partner with Pride of Britain, Pride of Sport and our local charity partners.

For example, every year each of our branches supports a local, independent charity that helps local people.

They’re called Local Charity Partners and they're chosen by our customers, TSB Partners and members of the public. So far, we've helped over 1,300 across the country.

We believe that banking needs to be exposed to the full force of competition.

Only then, will consumers really start to see a change in an industry that's been stacked against them for far too long.

That's why as Britain's challenger bank, we are leading the charge in campaigning for three simple changes that will help people get a better deal and make banking better for everybody:

  1. People need to know the true cost of their banking and whether they could get a better deal elsewhere.

All banks should come clean on fees, product features and hidden charges. And they should tell customers how much they're really paying for their account, through a standardised 'monthly bill' that explains exactly what they owe or the services they have used.

  2. People need to be made aware of their right to switch.

All banks should be required to put more effort into promoting the existence of the Current Account Switch Service (CASS) and explaining how easy it is to switch.

  3. Some people with an arranged overdraft can't easily move their account, even if they want to switch banks.

The industry needs to create a solution, like a credit passport, that would let more people take their overdraft with them, subject to eligibility criteria.
