Did you know that 67 per cent of our Internet Banking logins are now made on a smartphone or tablet? And that - in the past 12 months - nearly one million people have used TSB's mobile Internet Banking app?
We want you to be able to bank with us the way you want, when you want - and having a strong mobile app is integral to that. So I'm really pleased to say that a completely new version of our
mobile banking app
is now available for Android and Apple smartphones [i].
The task for challengers like TSB is to make it easy for you to be in control of your finances and your bank - not the other way round. So, at TSB we offer banking that's in your interests and on your terms - what we call "Local banking on demand".
What are the improvements?
You'll notice that the app features an updated modern look. But it's not just about aesthetics; the new app is also designed to be easier to use.
We know performance and speed of use is important, so you'll be pleased to know that the new app is built specifically for Android and Apple devices. This allows the new app to work faster and be more responsive than the previous version.
Importantly, we have made further improvements to the security of the app, so you can have continued peace of mind while doing your mobile banking. These improvements mean that people with
devices won't be able to use the new app, but they can continue to use the previous app or access our mobile banking service via their device's internet browser.
Features of the app include:
- Quicker logins. People can log in quickly and securely using just three characters from their memorable information, once they've completed the app registration process.
- Pay a Contact
(PayM) compatibility. Once registered, you can send and receive payments between friends and family members by using just a mobile phone number. You can also access your phone book from the app to avoid the need to key this in.
- View statements conveniently.
- Create and pay new accounts.
- Branch and ATM locator.
Where to download the new app
Existing users should have received an app update, while new users can search 'TSB' in the
iTunes App Store
to find the new app, or by visiting our mobile banking page.
Windows and Blackberry users can continue to use TSB's previous app or login via their device's Internet browser.
We won't stand still - we'll look to make further improvements to the app as time goes on.
For example, we know that many people would appreciate being able to manage their direct debits and standing orders within the app, and my team are already hard at work to include these in the next round of updates.
