Representatives from the Royal Family, senior politicians, celebrities and Britain’s leading sportsmen and women have all participated in the event over its history as it has grown to become the most significant event of its kind: recognizing ordinary people for doing extraordinary things. This year a judging panel that includes Olympian Sir Chris Hoy, newsreader Mark Austin and Good Morning Britain presenters Susannah Reid and Ben Shepherd faced the difficult challenge of choosing winners from hundreds of amazing stories.
