• How to get involved

Each year we encourage our branches to choose a new local charity partnership based on nominations received from customers, TSB partners and general members of the public – including charities.

Nominations for our 2016-2017 Local Charity Partnership programme have now closed, and our new Local Charity Partners have been selected from the top three eligible nominations for each of our branches.

To find out who we’re supporting in your local community from 1 September 2016, look up your local TSB branch using our branch locator, or pop into your local branch now.

  • Short stories

With every branch choosing a charity partner we get to hear about some great activity across the country. So we thought we’d share them with you.

If you want to get a better idea of what’s happening in your local branch, why not pop in and speak to one of our Partners or have a look at the local community board.

  • Peterborough Food Kitchen supplies food to homeless and disadvantaged people in the local area and is almost entirely run by volunteers.

The team at Millfield TSB branch have been busy fundraising to support this great cause. Earlier this year they raised nearly £150 which they used to buy fruit from the local supermarket to be distributed to the Food Kitchen's clients, helping them get one of their five a day.

Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) were over the moon to receive a cheque for £2,095 after 13 TSB Partners abseiled down Forth Bridge. The team faced gale force winds to battle to the top of the iconic 125 year-old UNESCO World Heritage landmark before abseiling down and breathing a hearty sigh of relief. A huge thank you to everyone who generously sponsored the brave team from Henry Duncan House and Excel House in Edinburgh.

The North East Hike it or Bike it saw TSB Partners walking, running or cycling between Berwick and South Shields TSB branches. While in branch TSB Partners were holding the bake sales or rode stationary bikes. The team covered 291 miles raising £1,385 for their nine local charity partners - which includes St Oswald's Hospice, the Great North Air Ambulance Service and the Sanctuary Project in the process.

If you were anywhere near Gwynfi River in late May and saw a swarm of yellow ducklings floating downstream, you'd probably have been wondering what was going on.

Shirley and Alison from the Maesteg TSB branch were the brains and brawn behind the Duck Race, organising the ducks and getting donations from local businesses to support the event. Thanks to the generosity of the staff and local community they raised £520 for their Local Charity Partner, The Garnwen Trust.

The Trust is creating a lasting legacy for Alex Collins and Bethan Jones, who lost their lives in a tragic plane accident in 2007, a multi-purpose log cabin in the picturesque Afan Agroed Forestry area near the town of Maesteg. The log cabin will enable groups of disabled and able-bodied people to enjoy short breaks in the forest.

Crouch End TSB branch chose Hornsey Vale Community Centre as their Local Charity Partner. The centre provides much needed support and activities to its local community.

As well as fundraising, a team of TSB Partners volunteered their time to help take a group of elderly people to Kew Garden. It was a great day out.

Pinner TSB branch has raised over £100 for their Local Charity Partner, Dance Ability. The group provides weekly movement, play and creative dance sessions for disabled children and their siblings.

The partnership helps more recognition from customers with disabled family members. With more recognition we hope comes more local support.
